Knotless · cornrows · twists · locs

Braids that don't take your edges.

Tension is a choice, not a side effect. We braid clean, we braid light, and we tell you honestly how long you'll be sitting before you book — not after you've arrived.

Styles & timing

How long, how much, how much hair.

The three things everybody messages to ask. Pick a style and they're all right here — no back and forth, no surprises when you sit down.

Full price list

Every price, written down.

Prices are for shoulder length. Add $30 for mid-back, $60 for waist. Smaller parts take longer and cost more — that's the only thing that moves the number.

We don't sell hair, but we'll tell you exactly what to buy and how much before you shop. Bring it with you — we can't start without it.

Our work

Straight from the chair.

Save anything you like and send it when you book. A photo tells us in one second what a paragraph can't.

Before you come

Four things, and we start on time.

Arriving prepped is the difference between a six-hour appointment and an eight-hour one. This is the whole list.

  • Come washed and blown outClean, detangled, fully dry, no leave-in and no grease. If you can't get to it, add a wash and blow-dry when you book and come an hour earlier.
  • Bring your hairPre-stretched braiding hair, the amount we told you when you booked. We can't start without it and we can't run out and get it for you.
  • Eat first, and pack a snackYou'll be here a while. There's a fridge, phone chargers at every chair, and the WiFi password is on the mirror.
  • Come alone if you canThe studio is small. One guest is fine, but we can't seat a whole group, and kids who aren't being braided can't wait here.

Booking policy

Said plainly, so nobody's surprised.

$40 deposit

Holds your seat and comes off your total. It's not extra. Without it the slot stays open to whoever books next.

Running late

Past 20 minutes we may have to move you, because a braiding appointment can't be shortened. Message us and we'll do what we can.

Rescheduling

48 hours' notice and your deposit moves with you, once. Less than that and it stays with us — the day can't be refilled.

Kids

We braid children 5 and up, mornings only, when they're freshest. A parent stays in the studio the whole time.

Who's braiding

Two chairs, two hands you can request.

A stylist working on a client in the studio

Alanna

Owner · knotless & locs

Braiding since she was fourteen, professionally for eleven years. Opened Crown & Coil because she was tired of shops that booked four heads at once and left people sitting. Known for knotless that doesn't pull.

Client being caped up at the chair

Simone

Cornrows, stitch & kids

Fast hands and the patience of a saint, which is why she takes most of the children's appointments. Her stitch parts are the cleanest in the shop and she will not be rushed on them.

What clients say

Reviews.

★★★★★

First time in years my scalp didn't hurt that night. No headache, no bumps along my edges the week after. I genuinely did not know braids weren't supposed to hurt.

She said on the phone it would be six hours and it was six hours. Phone charger at the chair, wifi worked, she made sure I ate. Small things, but no other shop has done them.

Took my nine year old for her first real set and Simone was so patient with her. She sat the entire time, which anyone with a nine year old will tell you is a miracle. Booked us both back for October.
